We are based in Cape Town, with the ocean on our doorstep, and the name is a nod to how we work. A site can look great on the surface, but the structure, speed and search work underneath is what gets you found.
It also means we work with businesses well beyond Cape Town. Where you are based makes no difference to the quality of what we deliver.
Our story
Founder's Note
Hi, I'm René, Founder and Creative Director at Ocean Digital Studio.
I spent years in corporate IT. Programming, IT project management, large organisations with big budgets and slow everything. I've earned my nerd badge the hard way.
On the side, I was building websites for friends with small businesses. What started as a creative outlet turned into something I enjoyed far more than my day job. So eventually I walked away. Corporate life has a ceiling, and eventually I hit mine.
What I kept seeing once I went out on my own frustrated me. Businesses getting bad advice, or no real advice at all, because the good stuff was locked behind large agency price tags they couldn't justify. So they'd either hand it to a nephew who "is good with computers", or try to DIY it, with no clue about what they were missing.
That's exactly why I started Ocean Digital Studio. To help service businesses get the online presence they deserve.
We're a close knit team and I'm hands-on in every project. Which means you're always dealing with someone who gets to know you, your business, and your goals.
Ours is a service business too. We know what it takes, what it costs, and what's actually worth spending money on.
